IOF 2020 European Meeting and Workshops

29 – 30 June 2020, Bjerringbro, Denmark

The 8th IOF meeting and workshops will be held at the Grundfos campus in Bjerringbro, Denmark on 29 – 30 June 2020. Registration and hotel information will be posted soon.

– How can the industry collaborate and develop new approaches?

Are you actively involved in developing and using ontologies to improve interoperability and drive value in engineering or industrial contexts? If so, this event will be right for you.  

The 6th IOF meeting and workshops were held at the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) facility in Gaithersburg, Maryland (just North of Washington, DC) on 4-5 December 2019.

The 5th workshop was hosted by DNV-GL and the Sirius Centre in Oslo in February 2019. A copy of the agenda is here:

The 4th workshop was hosted by the Centre for Ontological Research in Buffalo, NY in September 2018.

The third IOF workshop ‘Creating semantic content for industry’ was held at NIST in the U.S. in April 2018. Following this the IOF set up a number of committees. A Top-down group, a Bottom-up group and three domain working groups on Process Planning, Production Service Systems and Maintenance. Work also started on a Technical Principles document.

The second IOF workshop ‘Connecting the dots in Smart Manufacturing’ was held in April 2017. 

The first IOF workshop was held in in December 2016 and hosted at the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Gaithersburg, Maryland .  This workshop resulted in the creation of two IOF working groups- Governance and Case Studies, and the development of the IOF Charter and Mission.
